no place like home.. weekend update

Dinner date with my good friend Melissa! We see each other a couple times a year due to us never being in YYC at the same time. She is off to HK a week after I come back from YYZ. First stop was Una Pizza & Wine for some prosciutto wrapped dates stuffed with nuts, veal & pork meatballs, and prosciutto and arugula pizza! Best pizza ever! Went for a stroll around Prince's Island in search for the Peace Bridge (pictured on top), apple cider and tea in Kensington's Oolong Tea House, and eventually to my house for some music and hair curling lessons. Good conversations about where we want to be, possible travel together, and non-existent love lives.

Fun Fact: The Peace Bridge is our newest bridge which cost us $135 million, people are very pissed off about this, apparently we need it for all the people working downtown that need to get to the core.. but really we do not! Anyways, it reminds me of a subway tunnel.

Hot pot with the Pearson girls. We rarely get together but decided to meet up and have hot pot at my place! Went shopping at T&T and then prepped way too much food! Meatball, cuttlefish ball, fish cakes, watercress, noodle things, napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, sliced pork, tofu, shrimp, tiger beer, milk tea, and some fruit wine! YUM! Lots of talks about BFs, school, high school, houses (yes my friend owns a house already!!), credit cards and interest rates.. we have definitely grown up! Gone are the talks about what grades we got on an assignment and what each other proms dresses looked like. Now we talk about buying houses, doing masters, and all that grown up stuff!! In five years, we will have our 10 year high school reunion, scary eh?

This is Alster. A resident pig of a pet food store! He was so cute and adorable,
apparently he lives in the store and sleeps in a bed in the back.
He has always had a pot belly as he is a Vietnamese pot belly pig =)

Two weeks ago I was floating in Half Moon Cay with the biggest worry
being what two appetizers, main and dessert I would be ordering that night.
