Summer 2013 Recap
Just a random list for me to remember this summer by.
May
YYZ: Picnics under the cherry blossoms and at Tommy Thompson Park, organizing a school-wide event to expose kids to science, my first 10k, Blue Jays game, multiple clubbing nights, and first dates. YYC: Lunch with some old co-workers, celebrating Mother Matt birthday, singing wonder wall with the fam, and last minute steak nights. YVR: I am so fortunate for my education and being able to travel to different conferences to learn more in my field, present my own, research, and meet others with similar interests. My first conference that wasn't full of physicians and pharmaceutical companies! Also one of my favorite trips to Vancouver. Fell more in love with cancer research, met an old supervisor, delicious sashimi, hostel nights, biking in Stanley Park x 2, finally finished Grouse Grind, Kobe beef, car ride to the Spanish banks and a lovely conversation about love.
June
Operation at Castle Cafe, High Park exploring, BBQing at Woodbine and my first attempt at chicken wings, amazing fish tacos at Grand Electric, work soccer, Little Italy Festival, BBQ at uncles, Colour Me Rad + Darien Lake in Buffalo, work pot luck and , and first Electronic Music Festival.
July
AGO with HPMERs, house warming along Harbour front, MSc versus PhD, BBQing with the group, visit from Hamilton and dimsum for dinner, work BBQ at Centre Island, Montreal weekend trip with the girls, first single date with 'City Lights' in the park, T&T night market, Amazing Urban Race, BBQing with the cousin, and quick Ottawa trip.

Dating
Dating in the 21st century is by far one of the most ridiculous
processes ever. People are so complicated. You must play games. You must
lie. You have to act like you don’t care even if you do. You must date
multiple people to keep the attention of that one because its generally
just casual. You must be unavailable if you are too available people get
turned off. You have to ignore calls even if you want to pick up.
Essentially if you are a true lover, you have to resist everything that
comes natural to you to play this fucking “game” you fucking idiots love
to play. It changes everything for me to pretend like I don’t care. I
actually stop giving a fuck.
